Over the past 30 years, Nick Deocampo has written books on Philippine cinema, mainly on its history, pedagogy and scripts. Three of these books have won in the “National Book Awards” given out by The Manila Critics Circle. Deocampo’s collection includes the on-going five-volume series on the hundred-year history of cinema in the Philippines with a forthcoming publication on the period of World War II as well as a book on early cinema in Asia, which he edits and will soon be published by the Indiana University Press.
